🎤An EXLUSIVE Creator Interview has been recorded for this spotlight, meet the creator behind Sentinel as he answers some questions about it's development.
🤔THE DEVELOPING IDEA💭
The idea of Sentinel was made as a tribute to one of Ivory's old maps, Hazard Zone. He worked on Hazard Zone for a while, eventually releasing Season 1! But the success was short, as Season 2 was tragically lost after an account move😨. After, Ivory was very demotivated, spending more than a year on an experience, then losing it is understandably demotivating. "I had thoughts of just quitting br maps due to losing that one project that I worked my a** off on to make." Ivory had an entire community around that experience, people loved it. He loved coming into that map everyday just to work on it and share it with the world.🌎
Getting Started🚧
Back in December of 2023, Ivory decided to start work on an original version Sentinel, but on a smaller Kevin Floating Island. After the second location was completed, Ivory eventually quit development after realizing it wasn't as good as he originally thought. After he quit the experience, he had no idea what to do for a little while. But like a shining light, one of his good friends; Novabros69🫂, convinced Ivory to give it one more try. So, he did! Nova and Ivory started working together, after a while, released their first CBR. The island grew with nature, a location, and then landmarks, they worked on the next CBR using the same process.
🔂After many CBRs later, they applied the same process to Sentinel, and the experience was built to completion in no time! The CBR was completed, just like that... "You know what’s crazy?" Ivory says, "If Nova had never sat me down and told me to keep going on this dream of mine, the Sentinel that’s out today would have NEVER existed. So I'm eternally grateful for being friends with Nova."❤ Sentinel's development took around 6-7 months to create, the memory sits at a comfortable 76k memory as of now. with when compared to the 98k memory Hazard Zone had, it shows the massive development of Ivory as a creator and strategist to create the best experience possible.

"Sure, there were some ups and downs in development, like the entire snow biome at one point was scrapped and became the desert biome🏜 you all know from Sentinel today, but at the end of the day, I'm really happy with what the map has become. I had to have help with all of my POIs when working on Hazard Zone, but when I started making Sentinel, something clicked, and I started actually making my own interiors and POI layouts. So it felt good looking at all of the POIs and actually knowing that most of them were truly my own. Not Nova’s. Not anyone else’s. Mine. That’s really cool. But yeah, that’s the basic rundown of how the development of Sentinel went. I’m extremely grateful to have a community around this map that actually enjoys what I make. Love you guys😊"
